What portion of delight
Is given to the virgin?
Lying down alone
Betrays she doesn't know
The loving spine that tingle
The loving heart that beat you
And delight in division of the portion yours alone

The morning star arise
On drinking in the new wine
Fasting till the blood
Comes running back and forth
And walking in the tall trees
Drinking in the cool breeze
It's the sweet revelation of the portion yours alone

But now the sickness
Becomes a servant
To eat the darkness
To let the hunger shine
So see it brighten
Until it's blinding
It's the pleasure in harvest of the portion yours alone

And where is there to hide
When the cursed share is falling?
In anger for the weak
And in hunger for the pure
In power for the aged
In pleasure for the jaded
But the gift to the virgin is the portion of delight
